The Comeback

UFC 106 is one day away and the excitement is in the air. The return of Tito Ortiz to the UFC is gonna be big. Even after the long time its been, he already proved that he can still sell fights. The Mandalay Bay was sold out almost instantly when tickets hit the box office. But the question is does Tito still have it? Does he still have the quickness and strength to hang with today's elite. I think he can. They gave him a good matchup because I think both fighters are going into the octagon with something to prove. Forrest is gonna try to convince everyone that the loss to Anderson Silva was a fluke, but don't take it to heart Forrest it's Anderson Silva. Nobody expected you to win, let alone put up a fight. I just hope that the punches Anderson landed didn't turn Forrest's jaw into glass. Both fighters are talented sprawlers but I feel that Tito's strength in the gloves will land him the knock out he needs to prove why he's the Huntington Beach Bad Boy.

This leads me to the fight I have been waiting to see for so long. Josh Koscheck and Anthony Johnson. For the past 2 years I have seen Koscheck get handed decisions and fight lackluster fighters. The hype has been so bright that it bleached his hair, well not really but probably. If you played UFC Unleashed then you probably recognize him as the fighter who looks like the Joker. You can probably get the hint that I don't like this fighter. I don't know what it is but he just really grinds my gears. Anthony Johnson on the other hand is young, strong and quick. He has so much potential in the Welterweight class. His reach is overwhelming for most other welterweights. His explosiveness is similar to George St-Pierre. I believe Anthony Johnson will knock out Koscheck and go on the reign to take St-Pierre's title. We all know that we want to see a new champion George St-Pierre had it for a good amount of time, but if there is anyone who can give St-Pierre a chllenge it's gonna be Johnson.

Predictions:
Ortiz knocks out Griffin in the second round.

Johnson gets the TKO in the third.

Down But Not Out

The Pistons might not be at the top of their game right now, but they didn't forget how to defend. Detroit has always been known for their defense and this is why. Poor Shannon thought he had an easy highlight jam on a defender. Not against the Pistons, you gotta work for it kid. Go take that trash to another opponent.

Oh and I like how the crowd was already starting to cheer before he even jumped, sorry Laker fans. Be a little smarter next time.

Late Night Spotting

Since Conan O'Brien moved to Late Night I have wanted to go watch a taping of his show, but for some reason they never email me back with tickets. I had to sit to the side and watch not only my sister, but a so-called teammate of the Illionaires Andrew "Pope" get to watch who I think is the funniest man on TV. Well since I couldn't find my sister in the crowd the next best thing is to show you Pope. Check out the pictures and think if you remember wondering to yourself why the Big Show from WWE and Connan from NWO was in the audience.

Pacquiao and Cotto: The Aftermath

After the barrage of Facebook "boxing experts" slamming their status updates with PacMan fanfare, I realized that I love how after every Pacquiao fight, everyone becomes a "boxing expert". So what if you watched a couple Pacquiao fights and consider him you're favorite fighter, just don't tell me Mayweather isn't a great fighter. Don't get me wrong, Pacquiao is the pride of the Philippines, has impeccable speed and power, and has proven time and time again why he's the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world, but when you analyze the fight stylistically, Pacquiao may have his hands full fighting Floyd "Money" Mayweather. I'd love to see Pacquiao smash Mayweather, but it seems Mayweather has not lost a step and continues to use his incredible defense and intelligence to confuse and batter foes. In boxing, styles make fights, and an aggressive offense will not be able to overcome a world class defense. I love Pac, but to win against Mayweather, you have to cut the bullshit and develop a strategy to open up Mayweather's defense. No more movies, no more music, just boxing for once please. Great win for Pac, lets just hope he keeps it up.

Charlie Auto-Tuned

I stumbled onto this video and I couldn't stop laughing. It's from the original "charlie bit me" video, but they auto-tuned their voices and laughs. Hearing little kids auto-tuned just seems funny to me. Enjoy. Oh and on a side note: Manny Pacquiao is pound for pound the best boxer.

Not Your Average School

My apologies for a lack of posts today, but I was at school for a large portion of the day. First I had to take my make up test for Pro Tools HD, then I got invited to check out a recording session by previous ILLtv star Six. He and a couple of other guys booked the session to record a live performance song. That means no beat from fruity loops, no sampled or chopped melody, just free imagination and infinite creativity. They originally had a smooth synth string to be used for the chorus and a hard hitting horn stab to keep balance with the drums for each verse. Ideas were pitched and they eventually decided to change up the song sonically. I can definitely admit that live performed drums sound so much better even on a hip hop track. They didn't finish the song, but booked the studio again for a future date. Six will also be dropping his mixtape very soon, which will be posted so you can check out his talent. Well I just wanted to show you a little more detail into what I am blessed to be a part of every day when I go to school. Stay tuned for more stories and videos of future recording sessions.

Pure Facial

There was a mean facial in last night's game between the Cavaliers and the Heat. The game was everything it was hyped up to be, LeBron vs. Dwayne Wade. Both had their highs and lows of the game, but the highlight was when Wade had a monster dunk on Cleveland's Anderson Varejao. The dunk was okay considering that Varejao was backing up and then jumped instead of timing the block. The other thing I didn't understand is why Wade didn't get a technical for taunting when he consciously, yes he was facing away Varejao, then turned towards him to add insult to injury. But when doesn't the NBA turn it's back when Dwayne Wade does something wrong. He pretty much gets handed calls left and right. But not taking away anything from the guy, he's extremely athletic and has the ability to beat your team by himself. But maybe that's why his team hasn't been in the finals in a while, a little team effort goes a long way. Congrats any way Dwayne Wade, you get my vote for dunk of the night.

Poll Results

So far red is in the lead, but there isn't much separation from a couple other colors. I'm gonna leave the poll up for one more week and see if a color is able to pull away from the rest of the pack. Use your vote, they are very powerful because we actually listen to what you have to say.
